Marian Guldan, 94, of New Ulm died Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, November 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm with Monsignor Douglas Grams celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Wednesday and 7:30 – 10 AM Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marian is survived by her daughter, Marie Guldan of New Ulm; sisters, Norma Gag of New Ulm, Vivian Borak of Mankato; sister-in-law, Lucille Macho of New Ulm; many nieces, nephews great and great-great nieces and nephews plus numerous friends.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Floyd Guldan on November 2, 1999; brother, Charles Macho; brothers-in-law, Melvin Gag, Linus Schramski and Gilbert Borak.

Marian Louise Guldan was born January 22, 1918 in New Ulm to John A. and Marie (Boesch) Macho. She was a 1935 graduate of Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. Marian was united in marriage to Floyd Guldan on May 23, 1936 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, watching sporting events, especially hockey games, listening to old time music and spending time with family and friends especially at her summer home on Lake Washington near Hutchinson.

Marian was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm since birth where for many years she was very active in the CCW, especially cooking funeral lunches; National Catholic Society of Foresters; American Red Cross where she volunteered at the Bloodmobile and sewed cancer bags for cancer victims; a charter member of the New Ulm Medical Center Auxiliary doing volunteer work at the hospital; a girl scout leader and 4-H leader; and also the first female election judge hired by the City New Ulm.

She will be truly missed by all those who knew her.
