Obituary

Alice M. Stueber, 93, of New Ulm passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Oak Hills Living Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father Nathan Hansen celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary Friday night at 4 pm at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Friday and will continue from 8:30 – 10:30 AM on Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home - NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Susan (Steve) Biebl; sons, Tom (Judy) Stueber, Mike (Connie) Stueber, Russ (Lois) Stueber; grandchildren, Matt Stueber, Angie (Cory) Stephens, Shelly (Reid) Wildung, Amy (Dave) Nordaune, Adam (Kate) Stueber, Katie (Jeremy) Penkert, Mitch Stueber, Scott (Kjelsy) Stueber, Stacy (Kevin) Reinhart, Brent (Heidi) Schwab, Nick (Ashley) Schwab, Brian (Abigail) Schwab; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan (Jerry) Krzmarzick, Jean Dummer and her brother, Curt (Joanne) Windschitl.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lauren Stueber; sisters, Marie (Joe) Landsteiner, Lois (Hank) Tuzinski; brothers, Raymond (Leora) Windschitl, Arnold (Loretta) Windschitl, Lyle (Florence) Windschitl; her twin brother, Alvin (Theresa) Windschitl; son-in-law, Alan "Frank" Schwab and brother-in-law, George Dummer.

Alice M. Windschitl was born November 30, 1929 in Comfrey to Anton and Frances (Hillesheim) Windschitl. Alice was the third set of twins out of four sets in her family. On June 5, 1951 she was united in marriage to Lauren Stueber at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage the couple raised their family on their farm in Milford Township. She was blessed with 64 years of marriage to her husband Lauren.Alice and Lauren enjoyed restoring antique furniture together and gifting them to their children and grandchildren. Alice was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, The Christian Mothers Society and the C.C.W. She enjoyed fishing in Detroit Lakes, gardening, canning, flowers, dancing to old time music and playing cards. Alice loved cooking and baking for her family. She made thousands of chocolate chip cookies and peeled many apples for pies. No one ever went away hungry or empty handed. Alice was a very caring and giving person. She was strong in faith and her family was her greatest pride. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
