Allan Gebhard, 77, of New Ulm died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday, June 16, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm with Pastor Jo Anne Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Monday and 7:30 – 11 AM Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm

Allan is survived by his wife, Darla Gebhard of New Ulm; step-sons, Cory Schnurrer of New Ulm, Aaron Cordes of New Ulm; a grandson, Kaden Schnurrer of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Dinah (Jim) Skalicky of St. Peter; a brother-in-law, Dale (Jeanny) Cordes of New Ulm; and by nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Allan Roy Gebhard was born April 28, 1938 in New Ulm to Roy and Mary Ann (Randolph) Gebhard. He was a 1956 graduate of New Ulm High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Mankato State College. Allan was involved with the early space program as an employee at Viron Co. in the Twins Cities. He then worked for Federal Cartridge which became Pen Air until his retirement in 1990. Allan was united in marriage to Darla Cordes Schnurrer on May 4, 1990 at the First United Methodist Church in New Ulm. He enjoyed history, photography and also photographing trains.

Allan was a member of First United Methodist Church, Brown County Historical Society, Junior Pioneers, Wanda Gag House Assn., Lind House Assn., and the New Ulm Turnverein.
