Arlene A. Kral, age 92, of New Ulm passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – South Chapel in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – South Chapel in New Ulm.

Arlene is survived by her sons, David (Jody) Hillesheim of New Ulm, Joseph (Theresa) Hillesheim of Kenyon; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Alyce Anstett; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Windschitl; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Cletus Hillesheim; second husband, LaRay Kral; sister, Marlys (Merlin) Fixsen; brother, Cyril Windschitl; and brother-in-law, John Anstett.
Arlene A. Windschitl was born August 17, 1931 to Joseph and Sophia (Ubel) Windschitl in Burnstown Township, Brown County. On April 17, 1952, Arlene was united in marriage to Cletus Hillesheim at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. Their union was blessed with two children, whom Arlene dedicated her life to raising when Cletus passed away in 1969. On May 7, 1972, Arlene was united in marriage to LaRay Kral at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. The couple resided on the farm in Cottonwood Township until the late 80's when they moved to New Ulm. In addition to being a mother and wife, Arlene also worked at General Trading in New Ulm. She enjoyed watching the Twins and the Vikings, as well as going to church at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. Above all else, Arlene loved the time she was able to spend with all of her family. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
