Audrey Wise, age 92 formerly of Lafayette died Monday, December 25, 2023 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

A funeral service will be at 12pm on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH chapel with Pastor Timothy Anderson officiating. Burial will take place in First Lutheran Cemetery in Lafayette.

Visitation will be held from 10-12pm on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Audrey is survived by her sons, Robert (Jill) Wise of New Ulm and Jeff (Geri) Wise of Savage; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Randi, Evan; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Erin, Joey, Emerson, Cole; sisters, Lucille (Norman) Knowles of Mankato, Linda Olson of Maple Grove; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son, Steven; sisters, Betty (Wally) Gliniany, Arlys (Don) Puls; sister-in-law, Laura (Jerry) Kiecker.

Audrey Esther Olson was born January 8, 1931 in Franklin to Oscar and Myrtle (Sather) Olson. She was baptized on February 1, 1931 and confirmed in her faith on July 24, 1944 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1949 and attended the Mankato Commercial College and worked as a secretary prior to getting married. On July 19, 1952, Audrey was united in marriage to Earl Wise at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin. The couple was blessed with three sons, whom together they raised in Gibbon. After marriage, Audrey worked as a dental assistant in Gibbon until 1976 when she and Earl purchased the Citizens State Bank of Lafayette and moved to Lafayette. Audrey worked in the bank until retirement in 1993. After retirement, Audrey and Earl enjoyed spending time at the lake and winters in Arizona where they made many friends. Audrey loved to make hardanger projects to be sold at craft sales or framed and displayed by family and friends. She also enjoyed morning coffee with friends, playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle, and traveling to places like Norway, Alaska and many destinations in the U.S. Audrey was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Blessed be her memory.
