Bernadette Schroeer, 101, of Stillwater died Tuesday, December 13, at Boutwells Landing Care Center in Stillwater.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday, January 7, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in West St. Paul with Father Michael Creagan celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Bernadette is survived by daughter, Sharon of Cottage Grove, friend Ann Gaertner of Mendota Heights, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Schroeer; a sister, Dolores (Manderfeld) Arnold; and by her brother, Willard Manderfeld.
Bernadette Isabelle Manderfeld was born June 16, 1915 in New Ulm to Edward and Margaret (Dorn) Manderfeld. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. Bernadette was united in marriage to Melvin Schroeer on May 28, 1938 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage they resided in New Ulm where she worked as a dental assistant to Dr. George Kuehner. After retiring they moved to Real Life in West St. Paul and after Melvin's death she lived with her daughter Sharon in Cottage Grove and then at Boutwells Landing Care Center in Stillwater.
She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in West St. Paul.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. Joseph's Home for Children or to Catholic Charities.
