Bernice Ann Zollner was born June 5, 1934, in Fairfax, Minnesota - Renville County to Joseph and Lucille (Groebner) Zollner. Growing up in Fairfax, Bernice was a 1952 graduate from Fairfax High School and furthered her education gaining an associates degree in agriculture. Bernice was united in marriage to Daniel "Danny" G. Dietz on September 7, 1954, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. This union blessed the couple with two sons and a daughter whom together they raised on the farm in Cottonwood Township. Early in her working career, Bernice worked at the Creamery and the New Ulm Journal in New Ulm. She later went to work on the farm alongside her husband Danny where they raised livestock and crop farmed many acres. Later in life, Bernice went back to work at Kraft Foods in New Ulm. Besides her work, Bernice enjoyed sharing her creative side working with her hands quilting and doing needle point work. She also loved spending time in the summers tending to her flower garden on the farm. As one that couldn't pass up a "good deal" Bernice always loved finding a good auction, or spending time shopping. What brought her the most joy in life was always her family. She enjoyed every moment she got to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved to see them grow up. She was a devout member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm where she was active in the CCW, and served in volunteer roles at the church where it was needed. Bernice will be remembered for her strong will and her determined, ambitious, hard-working attitude. May these memories and the countless others forever stay in the hearts and minds of all who knew her best. Blessed be her memory.
