Betty Lou Fladmo was born March 27, 1936 in New Ulm to Gilbert and Margaret (Hock) Fladmo. She grew up in Hanska and graduated from Hanska High School in 1954, where she was the class valedictorian. On June 19, 1954, Betty was united in marriage to Merrill Anderson at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska. Together they made their home on a rural farm near Hanska, where they raised their four children. Betty worked at Kraft Foods for 32 years, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She found joy in reading and loved to travel. Betty and Merrill created many memories exploring places such as Hawaii, Norway, Alaska, and Europe. Some of their favorite adventures were the winters they spent together in Texas, where they made lasting friendships. Betty was an active member of her church and faithfully participated in Ladies Aid. She also volunteered with M.S. camps and, while wintering in Texas, found fulfillment tutoring children in reading and math. More than anything, Betty treasured the time she spent with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Blessed be her memory.
