February 28, 1958 – August 31, 2024
Bonnie Kay Geiger, 66, of Hanska, MN, died peacefully on August 31, 2024, surrounded by her
family.
A church service at Zion Lutheran church will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 14th,
with Pastor Bob Stover officiating. A celebration of life will continue after at the City of Hanska
Park (Yellow Building) from 12-4.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Randy Geiger of Hanska, children Eric and Betsy (Brueske)
Kessler, Crystal Kessler, and Kasey and Steven Gunderson; her grandchildren Isiah, Kolby,
Carson, Abner, Kellen, Elleanor, and Gabelle; her Mom (Lillian Roe) siblings Randy, Kellie,
Doug and Sandra Roe, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Donald Roe, brother Mike Roe, granddaughter Maddison,
and brother-in-law Randy Arndt.
Bonnie Kay Geiger was born February 28th, 1958 to Donald and Lillian Roe in Fairmont.
Bonnie graduated from New Ulm in 1976. Shortly thereafter she welcomed Eric and Crystal into
her life. Bonnie met the love of her life Randy Geiger in 1987 while working at Tony Downs in
St. James. They welcomed Kasey shortly after. Her family settled down in rural Windom for
several years while she started her career. Bonnie worked as a social worker for the Headstart
program for 25+ years enriching the lives of all the children and families she worked with.
Bonnie and Randy made it official with a beautiful wedding at Bethany Lutheran Church on
September 7, 1996. In 1997, Bonnie and her family moved back to Hanska to be closer to
family. Bonnie loved spending time with her family and friends the most. She was an avid
gardener always canning something and making jams. She was very artistic and always created
something beautiful. Bonnie and Randy spend many summers camping at Hanska Lake and later
Shirleys Park by Clear Lake surrounded by friends and family. What gave Bonnie the most joy
was her love for her grandchildren. The many summers spent at the lake doing arts and crafts,
swimming, boating, taking day trips, and going to garage sales. Bonnie loved casino trips with
friends and family. Bonnie had an infectious smile and always made you feel welcome. In 2020,
Bonnie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Colorectal cancer. Bonnie refused to give up
and fought the cancer with grace and determination until the end. She will forever be
remembered by all who knew and loved her. Bonnie will be missed dearly. Blessed be her
memory.
