Bruce "Eddie" Edward Timmerman Jr. age 73 of New Ulm died peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm.  Chaplain Leonard Hummel will officiate, and burial will follow in the Soldier's Rest Section of the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Sunday, and continue from 10-11 am on Monday all at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm.

Full military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca "Becky" Cordes of New Ulm; his step-sons, Eric (Connie) Rockvam of Mankato, Dan Rockvam of North Mankato; his grand-daughter, Lindsey Rockvam; his sister, Sharon Timmerman of Charleston, South Carolina; his brother, Patrick (Lindsay) Timmerman of Columbia, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lelia "Billie" and Bruce Timmerman Sr.

Bruce "Eddie" Edward Timmerman Jr. was born June 22, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida to Lelia (Daye) and Bruce Timmerman Sr.  He was a 1967 graduate from High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, and later attained his degree in Education from the University of Texas in El Paso.  Eddie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for over eight and a half years where he served in Vietnam as well as Germany.  Eddie worked his career as a dedicated school teacher in South Carolina, teaching middle school and high school social studies for many years.  He was a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society.  Eddie was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becky" Cordes on June 20, 1998, in New Ulm.  Eddie enjoyed studying history and trivia, but what he enjoyed most in life was getting to travel.  He began his travels while in the military where he was able to see Europe when he had time off.  Later in life, Eddie and Becky spent many years following Bob Dylan.  He frequently said, "I wonder where Bob is taking us next?" as that is how they planned their trips, which eventually led them to Italy and the Royal Albert Hall in London, England.  Eddie will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  Blessed be his memory.
