Carol Margaret Siering was born August 8, 1928, in Sleepy Eye, to Fred and Mabel (Bruess) Siering while they were visiting relatives. She, however, grew up in St. Paul and moved with her family to rural New Ulm in 1939. Upon graduation from New Ulm Public High School in 1947, Carol completed a year of training at the Union Hospital School of Nursing. She remained very active with the school and its students for many subsequent years. On June 16, 1950, Carol married Wallace Beck at the First United Methodist Church. It was in New Ulm that they continued to reside, work, raise their family and spend the rest of their lives.

Carol went on to work at the Union Hospital from 1948-1980 and the Sioux Valley Hospital from 1980-1983. For the next six years. She did home care for MBW Company until retiring in 1990.

In retirement, Carol did what she so loved and that was to work and socialize with people. She found joy in being a volunteer for the New Ulm Medical Center Auxiliary, participating in the Methodist Joy Circle, having card club with three other retired nurses who were friends and former co-workers, playing cards with people in her apartment building, and, more recently playing cards, Bingo and putting puzzles together with fellow nursing home residents.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Nancy Beck of New Ulm; son, Fred Beck of Dallas, TX; and sister, Joan Moschetti of Seattle, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Also surviving are special Divine Providence friends, Sister Bernadine Ugolini and Joann Klein. As well, Carol held dear many of the staff at Divine Providence. Among those there that Carol respected and regarded friends were Beth, Shirley, Colleen, Michelle, Karen, David, Kathy, Ashli, Gloria, Shelly Rae, Marilyn, Rose, and Rae.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wallace (1993); sisters, Mary Ann Carvelli, Helen McPhail, Lois Siering (in infancy), and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
