Carol Jean Wager was born on July 19, 1938 in New Ulm to Benedict & Irma (Fisch) Wager. She attended school at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, where she graduated in 1956. After graduation, Carol worked for New Ulm Bell Tel Co. in Minneapolis for 2 years and then at Meile Insurance Agency for the next 12 years. During her time at the agency, Carol was united in marriage to Robert B. Holm on October 18, 1958 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Their union was blessed with two children, Dan and Shelley. Carol and Robert began farming in 1967 near Klossner and raised their children on the farm. Bob and Carol farmed until 2011 when they moved to New Ulm.
When Carol was not raising her children or helping Robert farm, she enjoyed going bowling and playing cards with friends, traveling, reading, gardening, dancing, sewing and making cornbags. Carol was a member of many associations over the years including Christian Mothers, St. Anne's Society, the Red Hat Society, Sister Cities, PEO, Deutch Sprechen Club, and several birthday and breakfast clubs, where she greatly enjoyed socializing with her friends and community. What Carol enjoyed most in life was all the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.
Carol was a happy and loving person, nurturing and giving. She faced her cancer with courage and a positive attitude that radiated onto everyone she met. She will be dearly missed, blessed be her memory.
