Carol Anne Wellner, age 68, of Mankato, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 24, 2026, with her beloved husband and family by her side. 

Carol was born in Iola, Kansas, to Willis and Eunice Trible. She graduated from Papillion High School in Papillion, Nebraska, in 1976. In 1979, she moved to Mankato, Minnesota, where she met the love of her life, Brad. The two were married on April 3, 1982, during a late-winter blizzard and went on to build a beautiful life together.

Carol and Brad raised their children, Cody and Brittney, in St. Peter and created countless cherished memories through years of camping adventures with their children and close friends. After many years of camping, they purchased a cabin on Lake Shetek, where they enjoyed spending much of their free time together on the lake.

For many years, Carol worked alongside Brad at Wellner Auto Clinic, the business they owned and operated together. Carol did the accounting and managed the office. After selling the business and retiring, Carol and Brad moved to Colorado where they enjoyed many adventures and spending time with their grandchildren. In January of this year, they returned to Minnesota to be closer to family and friends as Carol courageously battled an aggressive form of lung cancer.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Eunice Trible; parents-in-law Butch and Margaret Wellner and sister-in-law Connie Wellner.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Brad; her son, Cody (Allie) Wellner; her daughter, Brittney Wellner; and her two beloved grandsons, Cash and Crew. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Trible; sisters Pat (David) Lohman, Jenny (Al) Loquasto, and Kathy (Ken) Vonderharr; brothers-in-law Dean (Cai) Wellner, Tom Wellner and Don (Denise) Wellner; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered support, prayers, and care throughout Carol’s journey. A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for the compassion, kindness, and exceptional care they provided to Carol and her family during her final months.
