Carolyn N. Traulich, age 83, of New Ulm, died peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

A private funeral service will take place.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Eldon; daughter Lisa (Jesse) Kral; sons Richard (Sabina) Traulich, Troy (Karen) Traulich; grandchildren, Richard Traulich Jr., Justin (Megan) Traulich, Tyler Traulich, Jatia (Kyle) Jandro, Mitchell Traulich, Shane Traulich, Brittney Kral, Ashley (Tyler) Lyons; great grandchildren Kylia, Luke, Charlie, Railynn, Jaxon, Poppy, Clark, Zay; sisters, Kathleen "Sugar" O'Gara, Maureen "Renee" O'Gara.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James O'Gara Jr, and her beloved cocker spaniel, Buffy.

Carolyn Traulich was born on June 7, 1940, in Sauk Centre to James & Geraldine (Bryant) O'Gara. After graduating from high school, Carolyn attended beauty school in St. Cloud, then worked as a beautician in Alexandria for a few years. She married Eldon Traulich in Osakis, Minnesota, on January 26, 1962 then settled in St. Paul. Their union was blessed with three children whom they raised together in New Ulm. Carolyn and Eldon purchased Pine Ridge Mobile Home Park and together built Traulich Estates. She loved to go on trips with her family; she visited many European countries, the Caribbean, Mexico, and enjoyed several cruises, including an Alaskan cruise which was one of her all time favorite trips.

Carolyn was blessed to be able to spend her summers at the family lake home in Cold Spring for over 40 years. Lots of memories were made fishing and swimming. Carolyn and Eldon had a second home in Apache Junction, Arizona, where they got to spend many winters visiting with friends, playing tennis and volleyball, going on shopping trips, playing cards, and bowling. Carolyn was an avid Vikings fan and had season tickets for many years. Carolyn was blessed with a great life filled with many fun memories, but her greatest love and joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Carolyn will be missed by all who knew her.
