Catherine "Cathie" Eckstein, age 66, of New Ulm died Friday, July 26, 2024, at her home in New Ulm of natural causes.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm with Father Mark Steffl officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home on Monday.

Cathie is survived by her sisters, Beverly (Jack) Friend of Rochester, Mary (Dave) Withee of West Fargo, North Dakota and Barb (Ken) Rieke of St. George; a brother, Brad (Jan) Eckstein of New Ulm; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Tom Eckstein.

Catherine Ann Eckstein was born March 14, 1958, in New Ulm to Anton and Harriet (Mathews) Eckstein; She was a 1976 graduate of Cathedral High School and a 1981 graduate of Iowa State University. She moved to Tarzana, California where she worked as an interior designer and then at various businesses in the New Ulm area. Cathie volunteered at the Wanda Gag House, Brown County Historical Society and was a poll worker during elections. Blessed be her memory.
