Charles "Butch" Roy Paa, age 76 of New Ulm died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Winthrop.

Funeral service will be 11 am on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home –SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.  Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 am on Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Butch is survived by his fiancé and partner of many years, Judy Liesenfeld of New Ulm; daughter, Heather (Chad) Condon of Nicollet; son, Ross (Silja) Paa of Box Elder, South Dakota; grandchildren, Kendra, Alissa, Aaron, Ashley, Michael, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Blair and Liam; sisters, Patsy and Kathy; and brothers, Carl "Bunky", Kenneth "Babe", and Harry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Dorothy and Janet; brother, John; and sister-in-law, LaVonne Paa.

Charles "Butch" Roy Paa was born December 1, 1940 in New Ulm to Charles Sr. and Nita (Clyne) Paa.  He worked nearly his entire life in the masonry construction industry.  Butch began his career with Lubbert Construction, and later worked for Heymann Construction and Art Stone before going into work on his own.  Besides his work, Butch always had a love for the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and just being in nature.  He truly was a one of a kind individual who spoke what was on his mind, but deep down had a heart of gold.  He will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him best.
