Charles Joseph Waibel was born December 30, 1936 in rural Sigel to Charles A. and Mary (Stadick) Waibel. He attended country school and helped his family on the farm. On May 9, 1964 Charles was united in marriage to Rita Domeier at St. John's the Baptist church in Searles. This union blessed the couple with one daughter and five sons, whom together they raised on the farm in Sigel. Charlie farmed in Sigel township for the majority of his life. Later, he worked at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye and Bloedel Monument in New Ulm. Charlie enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and red tractors. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and took pleasure in talking with people. He liked animals and pets, especially german shepherds. Charlie was proud of his family and was always happy to be around them, making many memories. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Blessed be his memory.
Charlie's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Prairie Senior Cottages for the wonderful care given to Charlie in his final years.
