Connie Jane Stevenson was born on March 21, 1960, in St. Louis Park to Kenneth and Annetta (Gruis) Stevenson. Growing up in Bloomington, Connie was a 1978 graduate from Bloomington-Lincoln High School. Connie's life was blessed with her daughter Jennifer whom she raised in Minneapolis. While living in the cities, Connie attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Connie was extremely passionate about art, and many art forms. From famous painters, to old films and music, to pottery and glass design, Connie simply enjoyed learning about and creating art. To further her education in the arts, she took adult education classes at the New Ulm Community Center. Connie enjoyed collecting 50s and 60s glass in particular. Blenko glass, beautiful in its shape and form always intrigued her the most. Her favorite artist being Georgia O'Keefe. Connie was able to enjoy a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico to see her favorite artists original works of art, and was also able to visit the Ghost Ranch home where Georgia O'Keefe lived her later life. Connie moved to Bena, Minnesota and worked at the Four Seasons Resort on Lake Winnibigoshish where she readied the cabins for guests. As an avid outdoorswoman, she was proud of the fact she was their first female "dock boy" at the resort. She loved fishing, and enjoyed sharing this passion with vacationers as she helped them clean their fish. After her time in Bena, Connie made her home in New Ulm. While living in New Ulm, Connie worked for Beacon Promotions. She was proud of the work she did there. She was able to use her skills and talents to focus on perfection of the product. Connie dearly enjoyed gardening and was always working on the landscaping of her residence in New Ulm. Connie was blessed to have found a friend and partner in her life, Joe Schwerin. Connie was truly looking forward to retirement, and had thoughts of perhaps moving to New Mexico. Although her passing was unexpected to most, countless memories of good times shared will forever stay in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Blessed be those memories.
