Darlene E. Forbrook, age 93, of Courtland, died Monday, February 13, 2023 at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral Service will be at 11 am on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland, with Pastor Wayne Bernau officiating. Private family burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is assisting the family.

Darlene is survived by her children, Brad (Cindy) of Alexandria, Marsha Forbrook Wills of Courtland, Stacy (Dale) Thorson of Mankato, Lisa Forbrook of New Ulm, and Curt (Kristen) of New Ulm; twelve grandchildren, Cory (Kim) Forbrook, Chelsea Forbrook, Derek Wills, Dana (Britt) Wills, Daniel (Amanda) Wills, Megan (Jason) Schmitz, Mindy Wills, Nicole (Nathan) Coker, Cole (Desiree) Thorson, Ryan Thorson, Connor Forbrook, and Cooper (fiancée Ava) Forbrook; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and her parents.

Darlene Esther Hulke was born on April 26, 1929 in Nicollet Township to Theodore & Esther (Kohn) Hulke. She graduated from New Ulm High School. Darlene was united in marriage to Eugene Forbrook on August 5, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mankato. She worked many jobs through the years that contributed to the family finances including working at the Cat n' Fiddle, Hermel at 3M, Del Monte, as a bookkeeper for Gene, and various others. Darlene enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping, fishing, quilting, and sewing. Most of all, Darlene loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
