Daryl D. Altmann, age 53, of Courtland, died Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Abbott Northwest Hospital, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm, with Pastor David Linn officiating. Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH Chapel, and will continue one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral Home.

Daryl Dan Altmann was born on November 16, 1970 in New Ulm to Roger & Arlene (Fluegge) Altmann. Daryl grew up in Klossner, Minnesota with his sister Cheryl, and two brothers, Butch, and Ryan. As a child and teenager, Daryl enjoyed farming, fishing, camping, and 3-wheeling with his family. Daryl attended New Ulm High School where he played football, wrestled for the Eagles, and met many lifelong friends. Daryl graduated in 1989. After High School, Daryl went on to further his education in Mankato.

Daryl resided in New Ulm, Minnesota, where he started his career in Sales by selling and delivering oil and fuel for United Farmers Cooperative. Also during this time, Daryl would help his father, Roger, by driving tractor in the fields late into the night. Throughout the duration of his life, Daryl made a career in tire sales, making long lasting friendships with his coworkers and clients.

In 2000, Daryl's life changed when he was blessed with his first child, a son, Dylan. Daryl and Dylan were two peas in a pod. Dylan was Daryl's pride and joy. They shared an affection for snow-mobiling, fishing, cars, and of course, tractors.

In 2009, Daryl met the love of his life and best friend, Bobbie. On August 20th, 2011, Bobbie and Daryl united in marriage in Brandon, South Dakota. Together, Bobbie and Daryl enjoyed traveling, boating, snowmobiling, NASCAR, gardening, and attending concerts.

Bobbie and Daryl grew their family in 2012, when their one and only daughter, Halle, was born. Halle was Daryl's little "sweetheart" as he called her. He adored spending time with Halle teaching her how to ride snow-mobile, playing outside, watching movies, and tubing on the boat. Halle loved eating her Dad's fish that he would make fresh for her and the family. Daryl and Dylan taught Halle the passion of tractors.

All of Daryl's family and friends will miss and cherish the memories of going on fishing trips, snow-mobiling, watching Vikings football, tractor pulls & plowing, and jamming to Motley Crue. Daryl deeply loved his whole family and cared for all of his friendships immensely. He will be greatly missed and his memory will live on through the legacies he has built.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Bobbie; son, Dylan Altmann, daughter, Halle "Sweetheart" Altmann; mother, Arlene Altmann of New Ulm; sister, Cheryl (David) Helland of Brownton; brothers, Butch (Aimee) Altmann of Lafayette and Ryan (Tracy) Altmann of Mankato; eleven nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Altmann.
