David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bonnie Waggie of St. George; son, Christopher Waggie of New Jersey; daughter, Nicole (Ron Erdmann) Melzer of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Lexi, Nikolas, Sydney, Emma, Gillian, Alison, Isabella, Jameson; great-grandchild, Camden; sister, Ann Breidenger of Alaska; brother, Kirk Waggie of Iowa; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth Heiber; sister-in-law, Mary Waggie; numerous pets who were well loved at the Waggie household.

David Gerald Waggie was born December 31, 1945 in Spencer, Iowa to Gerald and Joan (Campbell) Waggie. He graduated High School and attended college. In 1976, David was united in marriage to Bonnie Melzer in South Dakota. The two were blessed with three children. David spent much of his career at Borden's (now Firmenich) and spent his last 15 years of his career as a supervisor at Eaton's. He loved playing golf and following other sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He was an avid collector of cards and other sports memorabilia. David liked flea markets and antiquing with Bonnie. His love for animals was evident by the many rescues and strays that made their home with the Waggie's. David was a wonderful husband, father, and "silly grandpa". He was forever young at heart and will be dearly missed. Blessed be his memory.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life for David at a later date.
