David Jon Wolff, 81, was born April 4, 1943, to Wesley and Elvera (Rask) Wolff of Circle Pines, Minnesota. He graduated from Centennial High School in 1961. His family often sang, played guitar, and played piano at their church. He worked at a local racetrack, on a sod field and at the St Paul Ford plant. David joined the Navy in 1962 and was on active duty for three years. He served on the flight deck of the carrier USS Independence and was stationed in San Diego, CA, Beeville, TX. After discharge, he attended the U of M in the College of Forestry in Recreation Management. He was employed by the Department of Natural Resources as Regional Trails and Waterways manager in southwest Minnesota covering a twenty-seven county area. His valued and skillful crews developed and maintained multi-purpose trails on the abandoned railroads, built and maintained public accesses on lakes, and installed handicap access piers and boat docks.
David and his wife Sue Ellen (Winter) were married in 1967. Their son Jason Allan was born October 12, 1973, and was the light of their life. It was a very sad time when he died April 13, 2020.
David enjoyed restoring Sue's grandfather's 1949 Ford, which he drove to local cruise-ins each summer. He was always tuned into Classic Country and Country Gospel music.
