Deb Schmidt, age 67, of Courtland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 09, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. Pastor Paul Lauer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Courtland.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.

Deb is survived by her daughter, Jenna L. (James) Silva; son, Jared (Sara) Schmidt; grandchildren, Kayley (Ryce), Kelsy (Andy), Ava; brother, David (Bonnie) Wills; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Byron, and her sister, Kathy.

Deb Kay Wills was born August 6, 1957 to Harley and Arline (Stolt) Wills in Courtland. She graduated from New Ulm High School. On September 27, 1975, Deb was united in marriage to Byron Schmidt in Courtland. Their union was blessed with two children. Deb enjoyed crafting, mushroom hunting and spending time with her friends and her meetings at "the round table" (Swanny's). Above all else though she loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren. Deb will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
