Dennis Byron Wegner was born on July 8, 1943 to Herbert and Mildred (VanBrunt) Wegner in St. James, MN. He attended country school and Butterfield-Odin Public School, where he graduated in 1961. Dennis enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served until 1964. On June 26, 1965, Dennis was united in marriage to Sandra Schmidt at First Lutheran Church in Butterfield. The couple was blessed with a son, Dean in 1971. Following his time in the Navy, Dennis started his life-long career at 3M, where he worked until his retirement in 2001. Dennis had many hobbies and pastimes throughout his life. His favorite being his involvement and membership with the MN Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, serving as past president. He collected and maintained many classic cars over the years, which he was so proud of. Dennis and Sandy always enjoyed playing cards, especially with the 3 couples, whom they played with for over 50 years. After Sandy's death, Dennis spent nearly every Friday night playing cards with 3 close friends. Dennis was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. He will be dearly missed. Blessed be his memory.
