Donald Edwin Domeier was born February 23, 1939, in New Ulm to Edwin and Esther (Weiland) Domeier. He attended country grade school in Sigel Township and soon after went to work on his family's farm. Don was united in marriage to Avona Altmann on June 24, 1961, at the Swan Lake Catholic Church. Soon after marriage, the couple settled on the family farm where Don worked as a dedicated crop and dairy farmer for over forty years. When he wasn't working on the farm, he enjoyed spending time in his shop woodworking, or spending time in nature hunting and fishing. As a talented musician, Don also enjoyed sharing his love for old tyme music playing the concertina. What he loved most in life was time he got to spend with his family, and especially loved getting to see his grandchildren grow. He was a devout member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Don will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, but countless memories will forever stay in their hearts. Blessed be those memories.
