Donna Lynn Shipp was born on December 20, 1960 in San Diego, California at the Naval Hospital. She grew up in Paradise Hills, Ca and attended Morse High School. At the age of 20, she married David Lindsley. Years later, the pair divorced, but remained close friends. Donna lived in the East County of San Diego for much of her adult life, and worked as a Home Health Care Aide throughout her life. In late 2009, Donna moved to New Ulm, Minnesota, where she remained until her death.

Donna will be lovingly remembered, and is survived by her children; Kristy L'italien, Tracy Lindsley (Shawn Riddle), Danielle Shipp Grissom, and Jacob Shipp (Cathy Aschenbrenner). Grandchildren; Gavin Fernandez, Cade L'italien, Austin Weber, Reagan Riddle, Cathleen Leep, Paisley Leep, and Ronin Leep. Granddogs; Ash and Odorous Riddle. Grandcats; Bobcat Shipp, Reese Grissom, Fern Grissom, Olive Grissom. Siblings; Mike (Karen) Shipp, Chris Shipp, Anthony Shipp, Benjamin Shipp, Francis (Mark) Stankewitz, Lorie Shipp, Joan Shipp and Valerie (Rosangela) Shipp, and her many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; Earl Shipp and Hazel Wardwell, brother; Lorne 'Lonnie' Shipp, and her beloved cat, Little Girl.

Throughout her life, Donna loved to read, she was smart, and could always be found with her head in a book. She also enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and watching Jeopardy, Antique Roadshow and documentaries, especially those about nature and animals. Donna never met a stranger, and was known for her friendly and nurturing spirit. If you were to ask her, her children were her life's greatest accomplishment and she would beam with pride speaking of them. She could always be counted on to provide a warm and caring ear whenever anyone needed someone to talk to, without any fear of judgement. She was an open and understanding friend and mother. Donna was beautiful inside and out, and known for always having a good joke.

In her life, Donna faced many major medical issues, but was always known for her surviving spirit through it all. On November 21, 2024 Donna passed away at Regency Hospital in Golden Valley, MN, while recovering from her most recent surgery and illness.

Donna lived her life the best way she knew, and brought joy to so many. While we mourn the loss of her, we can take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering, and find solace in having her spirit live on when we remember the love she showed to many of us and the time we shared with her.

Friday, December 20, 2024 would have been Donna's 64th birthday. A celebration of her life and memory will be held at the Microtel Inn, in New Ulm, Minnesota, in room 218, 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
