Edgar William Kiecker was born in the former Union Hospital, in New Ulm, on October 7th, 1926. He was baptized at the Moltke township church, near Gibbon, and confirmed in Emmanuel Church, in Gibbon. He attended a one-room schoolhouse in his youth. Then he went on to high school and later assisted his parents on the family farm. Working the land became his passion for many years, until his retirement in March of 1998. Edgar married his sweetheart, Deloris, on September 27, 1953. They were united in marriage for sixty-eight years and were blessed with one son and three daughters.
He enjoyed the outdoors. His outdoor interests were especially specific to hunting, fishing, baseball, and softball. He was quite active in all of these. His biggest enjoyment was fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was also always up for a good game of cards. Edgar served in numerous capacities in the churches he had belonged to.
Edgar will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Blessed be his memory.
