Ellie Ann Dittrich was born May 22, 1998, in New Ulm to David and Patrice (Kretsch) Dittrich.  She grew up in New Ulm, and was a 2016 graduate from Cathedral High School.  While in school, Ellie exceled in hockey and golf.  She even had the opportunity to compete in the state girls golf and hockey tournaments.  Outside of school sports, she enjoyed watersports in the summertime, and snowmobiling in the winter with her family.  After high school, Ellie continued her education attending the University of Minnesota where she studied liberal arts, and later at South Central Technical College where she studied Phlebotomy.  Ellie was most recently employed as a phlebotomist at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center, and was continuing to pursue a career in the medical field.  Ellie was an entertainer from little on.  From singing every song in the Sound of Music, to her bright and witty sense of humor, she always knew how to brighten a room with her presence.  She kept her mind sharp playing crossword puzzles, sudoku, as well as cards, and always enjoyed when Jeopardy was on.  Ellie fought many obstacles in life, but always had a "glass half full" attitude.  Although her time on earth was not long enough, Ellie made a mark on everyone that had the privilege of knowing her.  Her memory will forever stay in the hearts and mind of all who knew and loved her.  Blessed be her memory.
