Frank J. Marka, age 83, of New Ulm, died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-NORTH Chapel in New Ulm is assisting the family.

Frank is survived by his wife, Susan; and several nieces and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Mary Hass.

Frank Joseph Marka was born on July 7, 1939 in New Ulm to Frank C. & Mary (Heck) Marka. He served in the Army Signal Corps and was honorably discharged on April 19, 1965 after two years of service. Frank was united in marriage to Susan Marie Oates on November 15, 1975 in Morristown, MN. He was employed in construction as a cement finisher with various New Ulm contractors, including Saffert Construction, the New Ulm Building Center, and Blank Construction. Frank was a member of the American Legion, AARP, and the Minnesota Sheriff's Association. Frank will be dearly missed by Susan, his loving wife of 47 years.
