Gareth "Gary" Scott, age 69, of New Ulm passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at his home in New Ulm.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – North Chapel in New Ulm.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – North Chapel in New Ulm.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Krissy Olivera; five grandchildren; sister, Julie Frolen; brothers, Bradley Scott, Robert Payson Scott, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gareth William Scott was born May 14, 1954 to Robert Payson Sr. and Evelyn (Coykendall) Scott in Minneapolis. He earned his G.E.D. and graduated from trade school for general contracting. Gary primarily worked as a general contractor and realtor throughout his life. He eventually moved from Minneapolis to Chicago, where he resided for many years until returning to Minnesota. In his free time, Gary enjoyed going hunting, fishing, target shooting, playing cards, and taking care of his legendary hair. Many treasured memories were made going hunting and fishing with his family near Alexandria and on Lake Ida, as well as his many motorcycle trips all over the country. Gary was a kind soul and will be dearly missed by those that knew him.
