Obituary

Glenn V. Sampson, age 77, of Mankato, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Hillcrest Rehabilitative Center in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home - NORTH chapel. Father Cornelius Ezeiloaku will officiate, and interment will follow in the Soldiers Rest Section of the New Ulm City Cemetery, where the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at the funeral home.

Glenn is survived by his daughters, Carla (Dan) Lingl of Taylorville, Illinois, and Glenda (special friend David Worth) Sampson of New Ulm; son, Russell Sampson of Dunnellon, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Graham, Conner, Dalton and Owen Lingl; sisters, Maxine (Bill) Henry of St. James, and Orlene Maze of Ocala, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; his parents; and a brother-in-law, John Maze.

Glenn Victor Sampson was born on April 1, 1940 in Sleepy Eye to Roger & Margaret (Murphy) Sampson. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lorraine Molden, on October 1, 1966, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Glenn spent most of his career working as a carpenter. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting Schells and Brown County memorabilia, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He was also an active member of the Beer Can Collectors of America. Glenn especially loved riding bikes to Hardees, going out to eat, and going to the Clock Restaurant in Ocala, Florida. Blessed be his memory.
