Harlie is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Carol Stark; daughters, Sherry Stark, Stephanie Severson; grandchildren, Aubrey Scherff (Larissa), Yancie Harris (Tanner), Alex Sorensen; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Raylan, Truitt, Laramie; sister, Anita Carlson; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; seven sisters; and ten siblings-in-law.
Harlie Daney Stark was born August 28, 1940 to Daney and Eva (Thornton) Stark in rural Darfur. He graduated from Comfrey High School in 1958 and continued farming with his dad. On November 17, 1962, Harlie was united in marriage to Carol Finstad in Cosmos. Their union was later blessed with two daughters. In addition to being a husband and father, Harlie provided for his family by selling Case IH farm equipment with Darfur Implement and later Miller-Sellner. He continued to keep busy by handling snow removal for both the city and residents of Darfur, mowing his amazing yard, photography, collecting toy tractors, fishing, and bowling. Harlie was a member of the Free Masons, Darfur Elevator Board, UCC Church Board, and UCC Youth Group Leader. Many fond memories were made sharing his sweet corn from the family farm with his friends in Darfur and all the time he was able to spend with his family. Harlie's smile and ability to get everyone to smile will be dearly missed by those that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
