Obituary

Hazel Helen Grams, age 95 of New Ulm died Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

A private family graveside committal service will be held in the Soldier's Rest Section of the New Ulm City Cemetery.   Pastor Wayne Bernau will lead the service, and the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Lloyd Grams; her daughters, Barbara (Dan) Solberg of Orornco, Norma (Tom) Peterson of Rochester, Sharon (LeRoy) Fitterer of New Ulm, Sue (Dale) Loechler of Mankato; her son, Ron (Brenda) Grams; 8 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her five sisters.

Hazel Helen Kunze was born July 30, 1923, in Sleepy Eye to George and Minnie (Schweiger) Kunze.  She was a 1941 graduate from the Sleepy Eye Public High School.  Hazel proudly served her country in the U.S. Army from 1944-1945 during the time of WWII.  On March 17, 1946, Hazel was united in marriage to Lloyd Grams.  This union blessed the couple with four daughters and a son.  Hazel later started her career with Slayton Public School district where she worked as a cook from 1963 until her retirement in 2009.  Hazel was a devout charter member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Slayton, Minnesota.  Hazel will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Blessed be her memory.
