Helen Rieger, 93, of New Ulm, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Divine Providence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Helen Catherine was born on August 27, 1929 to Anton and Anna (Schroedl) Baumann in New Ulm. She married Frank E. Rieger on October 15, 1951.

Helen is survived by her children: Anne Rieger, Jane (Mike) Domeier, Helene (Rick) Hurrle, Mark (Barb) Rieger, Claire (Bill) Gernbacher, Bryan (Amy) Rieger; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers Bernie and Bill Baumann.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents, stepmother Frances (Voltin) Baumann, and brothers Arnie and Tony Baumann.

Most important to Helen was her faith and family. She cherished being a wife, mother, and Oma.
