Janet Ellen (Loftness) Graupman, age 76 of Gibbon, passed away January 26, 2023, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester, with her husband by her side. She was married to her soulmate, Richard, in 1967. They traveled the world while Richard was in the Navy.  Later, they settled on the family farm near Gibbon. Janet started as Gibbon's first librarian in 1975. She continued to work many different jobs in the community. For 33 years, she could be found at Dr. Taggatz's office, keeping his veterinary business organized and greeting friends and visitors with a smile and a chat. She enjoyed staying active in her church by singing in the choir, as well as serving in many other roles and her faith guided her in every aspect of her life. One of her favorite summer activities in Gibbon was playing the flute as part of the Friday night band concerts and participating in multiple community parades with her friends and family. Nearing retirement, she and Rich began delivering motor homes, which let them explore the country and allowed them to enjoy more time with family and friends who were far from home. Janet and Rich were married for 55 years. Her loving smile and warm nature will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to meet her. She is survived by her husband Richard, her sister Linda, her children, Jerry (Diana), Jeffrey (Heather), and Jill, as well as her grandchildren Danny, Ali and Lucy.

Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.  Pastor Steven Bauer will officiate, and burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Monday at the church in Gibbon prior to the service.
