Jo Ann Shofner, 83, of Howard Lake died September 6, 2024 at the New Ulm Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm with Pastor Nathan Scharf officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 - 7 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the time of service on Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Tony Gehrke of South Haven; grandchildren, Brittany, Shelby, Sara Jo and Dylan; great grandchildren, Hailey, Abby, Parker, Arlo, Devin, Raven and Karter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Norman Beyer; husbands, Gordon Gehrke and James Shofner.

Jo Ann Mary Beyer was born December 18, 1940 in Brycelyn to Walter and Frieda (Baumann) Beyer. She was a graduate of Brycelyn High School, Mankato State and the University of Minnesota Minneapolis. Jo Ann owned a preschool Tiny Tots in New Ulm for 15 years then was employed at Bloedel Monument. She then was the sales manager for granite companies in Howard Lake and Minneapolis until her retirement in 2001. Joann enjoyed quilting, gardening and Minnesota Sport Teams.
