JoAnn Helen Lochner, age 74, of New Ulm died Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at her home in New Ulm.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am on Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye at 2 pm.

Visitation will be 2-5 pm on Sunday, and continue from 9:30-10:30 am on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Willis Lochner; daughters, Linda Newman of Maple Grove, Karen (Kurt) Schwacke of Waconia, Amy (Nick) Taulelle of St. Michael; sisters, Marilyn Mielke of Mankato, Rita (Doug) Bandemer of Morgan, Becky (Marty) Conzemius of Bloomington, Jean (John) Moody of Sanborn; sisters-in-law, Louise (Jim) Paulson of St. James, Lucille Mikrut of Forsyth, MO; brother, Ron (Jeanette) Zollner of Acton, MA; brother-in-law, Don (Peggy) Lochner of Zumbrota; grandchildren, Emily and Alicia Newman, Jared Schwacke, Jackson and Allison Taulelle; one great-grandchild, Mikayla Newman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by son, Timm Lochner; parents; sister, Eileen; mother-in-law, Ines; father-in-law, Elmer; and brothers-in-law, Ed Mielke and Elmer Krenz.

JoAnn Helen Zollner was born January 9, 1943, in New Ulm to Alfred and Helen (Dauer) Zollner.  She graduated high school from St. Mary's in Sleepy Eye and, on June 30, 1962, JoAnn was united in marriage to Willis Lochner in Sleepy Eye.  The couple was blessed with four children over their 55 years together.  JoAnn worked to raise her beloved family, and then went on to work 15 wonderful years as a territory manager for Hallmark and worked seasonally at AUI. When she was not working, JoAnn spent countless hours quilting and acquiring a beautiful collection of Hallmark ornaments. While she adored all Hallmark products, she particularly loved angels and kept a remarkable amount of paper products in her house for any occasion.  In her personal life, JoAnn kept a strong presence in her family's lives, who she loved dearly. From going to events for her children and grandchildren to driving to Mystic Lake Casino with her sisters, she made sure she spent time with everyone. JoAnn was a devout member at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, then at Cathedral in New Ulm.  She put up a long, courageous fight with cancer and she will forever be remembered in the memories of her loving family and friends.
