John B. Duenow, age 67, of New Ulm, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with Pastor Steve Kosberg officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

John is survived by his wife, Shari; daughter, Melissa (Jordan Hansen) Duenow; son, Brian (Bianca Kruse and son Draven) Duenow; granddaughter, Harlee Duenow; his sister, Patti Brueske and nieces, Angela and Nicole Brueske.

He was preceded in death by his parents; many aunts and uncles and brothers and sisters in law.

John Brian Duenow was born August 11, 1956 to Delford and Virgene (Stresemann) Duenow in New Ulm. He graduated from New Ulm High School. John was united in marriage to Shari Lindstrom on September 25th, 1981 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. In his younger years John worked on a farm with his dad for 16 years. He then went on to work for New Ulm Transfer, Skyline Manufacturing, Havemeier Trucking, and Hyman Freightways for over 15 years, then for Kraft Foods for 18 years until his retirement in 2018 due to health problems. John was a long time deer hunter and fisherman. He really enjoyed being in the woods cutting trees and preparing for the hunting season. He especially enjoyed hunting with his son Brian. Above all else he loved spending time with his family especially with his granddaughter Harlee. John had a great sense of humor he loved to joke around with family and friends. He was always someone that worked hard in everything he did. Going beyond what most people would to have things the way he wanted it done. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
