Obituary

John V. Lammers, age 85, of New Ulm, died on Monday, June 01, 2026 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 12 noon on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with Pastor Timothy Anderson officiating.

Full military honors accorded by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will follow the service at church.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.

Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughters, Denice (Dave) Klinge of Westminster, CO and Lisa Amato of Denver, CO; sons, John E. Lammers of Fountain Inn, SC and Terry Armintrout of Roggen, CO; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Alyce (John) Konz of New Ulm and Ruth Kent of Arden, NC; brothers, James (Mary) Henle of New Ulm and Paul (Pat) Henle of New Ulm; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendee Jefferson; mother, Esther Henle; and wife, Marie Cruz Lammers.

John Vincent Lammers was born on January 1, 1941 in Minneapolis to Esther Lammers. He graduated from high school in Anoka, MN in 1959. John was united in marriage to Mary Ann Keaten on February 8, 2014 in Longmont, CO.

John loved to drive, and he drove professionally long haul for a number of years, then charter bus excursions for many years. He also worked in concrete/cement business until retirement. He loved to travel and made several trips to Europe, particularly Ireland, France and Switzerland, and many other countries. He traveled the United States extensively for pleasure in a motor home with Mary and their dogs. John loved all animals and provided a loving home for several dogs and cats. He dearly loved his family and all their get-togethers. Being with, helping, and loving his family is what John was all about.
