Jon Lindquist, 75 of Lafayette died Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Bernadotte Lutheran Church in Bernadotte with Pastor Kent Krumwiede officiating. Burial will be in the Swedish Methodist Cemetery in rural Lafayette.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 PM Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Thursday.

Jon is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Lindquist of Lafayette; children, Karolyn (Jason) Baumann of Canton, South Dakota, Sara (Daniel) Kanuch, Audra (Brian) Oswald and Karl (Kristi) Lindquist all of Lafayette; grandchildren, Thomas and Clair Baumann of Canton, South Dakota, Hudson, Haley and London Kanuch, Jack, Ben, and Lauren Oswald, Lilly, Charlie and Owen Lindquist, all of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law Harvey and Alice Jensen; and his honorary brothers, Earl and Jarvis Johnson.
Jon Elwood Lindquist was born June 11, 1946 in New Ulm to Henry and Lulu (Johnson) Lindquist. He was a 1964 graduate of New Ulm High School. Jon was united in marriage to Linda Jensen on December 16, 1973 at the Presbyterian Church in Estherville, Iowa. Together they farmed near Lafayette and raised their 4 children. He enjoyed vacationing in Branson Missouri and Duluth, Labrador dogs, raising cattle, tulips, a good steak and watching the Twins and Vikings. His advice to family and friends was "Enjoy whatever life brings, laugh often, cherish your family, slow down and enjoy life."
Jon's family prefers attendees be dressed casually.
