Katherine A. Ellanson, age 82, of New Ulm, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Ridgeway on German in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska. Pastor Bob Stover will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Brenda Ellanson of Hanska, Becky (Bill) Barrett of Hanska, Beth Ellanson of Hutchinson; son, Blake (Melissa) Ellanson of New Ulm; grandchildren, Zach (Katie) Barrett, Kjerstin (Jack) Sullivan, Saydi (Chris) Booth, Savannah (Josh) Bontjes, Riley Ellanson; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Huntley, Hadley Barrett, Autumn Sullivan, Avery Sullivan, and Thea Ellanson; sister, Sandra (Dale) Tabatt of Lewisville; brother, Gary Solberg of Franklin; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Solberg of New Ulm; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Walter "Spud"; her parents; sister, Joanne Funk; brother, Donny Solberg; and brother-in-law, Jim Funk.

Katherine Ann Solberg was born on May 15, 1942 to Emil & Berdine (Kolstad) Solberg in Albion Township. She attended Hanska High School. Katherine was united in marriage to Walter "Spud" Ellanson on October 10, 1958 in St. James. She was a homemaker and their union was blessed with four children. Katherine enjoyed reading, music, and going for drives and on vacation with Spud. She absolutely loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of her family and friends. Katherine will be dearly missed, blessed be her memory.
