Kathleen "Kathy" Fleck-Kersting, 64, of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of New Ulm died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Bergan-Mercy Medical Center in Omaha.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 13, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Monday and 7:30 – 10 AM Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.

Kathy is survived by her mother, Lois Fleck of New Ulm; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Lisa Fleck of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Mary Kohlhof and her husband Greg of New Ulm; nieces and nephews, Travis and Renee Fleck of Farmington, Dustin and Jenna Fleck of New Ulm, Trevor and Autumn Fleck of Napa, California, Brett Fleck and his special friend Jill Polk of Tucson, Arizona, Becca Fleck of New Ulm; and by her special friend, Donald Brewer of Omaha, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Fleck; son, Jeremy Kersting; and by her brother, Steven Fleck.

Kathleen Carol Fleck was born May 3, 1949 in New Ulm to Bernard and Lois (Metzen) Fleck. She was a 1967 graduate of Cathedral High School in New Ulm and also attended Mankato Vocational School. She was employed in Minneapolis as a keypunch operator, in Cloquet as a nanny and then owned and operated Wayne's Corner Bar in Springfield. Kathy then lived in South Sioux City and Omaha, Nebraska where she worked various jobs.
