Lenora J. Jarvis, age 86, of Madelia, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Madelia United Methodist Church. Pastor Brad Kuebler will officiate the service, and burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Thursday at the church, and will continue one hour prior to the service Friday.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements.

Lenora is survived by her daughters, Shelley (Barry) Torgerson of Laguna Hills, CA, Luanne (Duane) Boomgarden of Madelia, and Gayle Black of Arab, Alabama; sons, William Jarvis of Grand Rapids, MN and Kenneth Jarvis of Wells, MN; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, LaRae (Earl) LaPlante of New Ulm; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Ben in 2009; son-in-law, Eric in 2022; and sisters, Juanita Baldwin, Marlene Meyer, and Dianne Nundahl.
Lenora Jean Hills was born on November 8, 1937 in Madelia to Leonard & Frances (Keech) Hills. She graduated from Madelia High School in 1955 and then furthered her education at Mankato Commercial College. Lenora then worked at Kato Engineering for two years. She then married and worked part time jobs while raising her family. Lenora then worked for Tony Downs for over 30 years, half of which she spent in quality assurance. She was an avid reader, really enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and the trips they took to her father's cornhusking events. Lenora was a wonderful person who always had a warm smile on her face. She had many friends and was well-loved by her many nieces and nephews.
