Les was born on July 11, 1944 in Minneapolis to Valeria Helget. Les grew up in rural Sleepy Eye. On May 26, 1967, Les was united in marriage to the late Patricia Arndt at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Les and Patsy raised 3 children in the New Ulm and Mankato areas. Throughout his life Les performed various jobs including construction and carpentry work. He was also employed with Mankato Iron and Metal prior to retirement. In his free time, Les enjoyed spending time with Cindy, his family, especially his grandkids, and his friends. Les also had an avid love for horses. He enjoyed riding as well as breaking a few. Les made many friends over the years so there was no place he would go that he wasn't able to find someone he knew. He also very much enjoyed listening to Dain's Dutchman play.

Blessed be his memory.
