Lonnie Wieseler, age 63, of Mapleton passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at her home in Mapleton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Good Thunder. Father Larry Wieseler will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Good Thunder.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – North Chapel in New Ulm. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Good Thunder.

Lonnie is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Wieseler; daughter, Alanna (Jim) Burkhardt and their children, Mikah, Bailey, Briyanna, and Jayden; daughter, Heather Laird and her children, Dylan, Kyra, Noah, Benjamin, and Jayde; son, Matt Wieseler; sisters, Leatrice Ellanson, Sharon Miller, Delores Baier; brothers, Rodger Welke, Jerry Welke; siblings-in-law, Mary Collins, Cindy (Horst) Eisen, Paul Wieseler, Roxanne Wieseler, Angie (Neil) Herzog, Carla Wieseler; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Angel Burkhardt; sisters-in-law, Monica Welke, Lynn Welke, Sue Wieseler; and brothers-in-law, Duane Ellanson, Gerald Miller, and Jim Baier.
Lonnie Jane Welke was born September 20, 1959 to Rueben and Grace (Anderson) Welke in New Ulm. She graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 1978 and went on to Hutchinson Votec for a paraprofessional degree. On September 12, 1980, Lonnie was united in marriage to James "Jim" Wieseler at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska and their union was blessed with three children. In addition to being a mother, Lonnie worked as a paraprofessional at REM Heartland in Madelia, Country Neighbors in Mapleton, and other various locations throughout her life. Her favorite career of all was being a full-time grandma for all of her grandchildren. Lonnie was devoted to her strong faith in God. She lived for her kids and grandchildren. Her warm hugs and loving, caring persona will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Until we meet again.
Although her passing was sudden, the lifetime of memories will live on in our hearts forever. Lonnie will be dearly missed. Blessed be her memory.
