Loren Earl Moeri, age 59 of New Ulm, died peacefully Wednesday May 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Donald Sutton will officiate the service, and burial will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Sunday, and again from 7:30-8:30 am on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Loren was born on August 24th, 1956 to Earl and Agnes (Bode) Moeri. Baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet, MN. He attended Trinity Lutheran Christian grade school and graduated in 1974 from Nicollet Public High school. Loren attended Mankato Votech graduating with a degree in electronics. While going to school, Loren worked at the Nicollet creamery and helped on his uncle's farm. After graduation, he worked at Telex Communications in Blue Earth and Le Sueur. On May 12th 1979, he was united in marriage to Jeanne (Mutch) and together they were blessed with 5 children. In 1980, they moved to New Ulm where he worked for the PUC, then taught electronics at SCTC, worked for Wieland Electronics and ended up at 3M in 1991, retiring August 1st, 2015. Loren spent 34 years as an EMT, many years as a Part-time peace officer with both Brown and Nicollet counties and an auxiliary police officer in New Ulm. He was an avid woodworker. He always had several projects going on at any given time. He was forever remodeling something in the house or making something in his shop. His most recent project was a large merry-go-round for the 12 grandkids.
Loren is survived by "his bride", Jeanne (Mutch), his 4 daughters and their husbands; Michelle and Eric Flahave, Sarah Moeri and Luke Haeg, Hailie and Matt Hacker, Katie and Carl Hopp, and 1 son, Peter; grandkids; Emily, Jackson, Wyatt, and Caleb Hacker; Laura, Dominic and Jacob Flahave; Averyelle and Marianna Hopp; Liam, Amelia and Rainer Haeg. His sister Patricia Stelter, mother-in-law Beverly Mutch sisters-in-law Kathy Kinney and Margaret (Lee) Hayes, brother-in-law Douglas (Becca) Mutch. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Loren was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Ulm. Loren was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Robert Mutch.
