Lorraine Boesch, 82 of New Ulm died Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her home.

Funeral service will be 1 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH Chapel with Pastor Timothy Smith officiating.

Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM At the funeral home.

Lorraine is survived by her son. Karl (Amy) Boesch of New Ulm; her partner, Arnold Weckwerth of New Ulm; grandchildren, Max, Hank and Miles; and her son-in-law, Mark Stumpf of Madison, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Margaret Stumpf; daughter Rachel Boesch in infancy; sisters, Delores Keubler and Elaine Metzen; and by her brothers, Roland, Arion and Marlyn Vollmer.

Lorraine Roslyn Vollmer was born March 24, 1940 in Sleepy Eye to Albin and Rose (Siegmann) Vollmer. She was a graduate of Sleepy Eye High School and Mankato State College. Lorraine was employed at as a teacher at Madelia Public Schools and New Ulm Area Catholic Schools for 36 years until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, Native American History, Art, outdoors and in her younger years Lorraine competed in auto racing.

She was a member of New Ulm Library Board, Wanda Gag House Board member, Isaac Walton League and the Basso Pesto Sports Car Club.
