Louis Compart, age 90 of Nicollet, died Monday, August 5, 2024 at Hillcrest Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
A funeral service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH chapel in New Ulm.
Visitation will be held from 1-4pm on Saturday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Louis is survived by his wife, Marcella Compart of Nicollet; children, Randy Compart of Courtland, Royce (Jill) Compart of Nicollet, Renae (Jason) Price of Mapleton; granddaughters, IvyLynn and Iylah Compart; brother, Ralph (Cheryl) Compart of Courtland; brother-in-law, Marvin (Judy) Gartner of Mapleton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Delores Sondag, Morris Compart, Lorraine Compart.
Louis Elroy Compart was born on October 29, 1933 in Granby Township to Raymond and Magdalena (Stolt) Compart. He attended and graduated from Nicollet High School. Louis grew up farming at a young age, which he carried with him throughout his life. On May 8, 1976, Louis was united in marriage to Marcella Gartner in Mapleton. The couple was blessed with three children, whom together they raised on the home farm. Louis enlisted in the Army following high school, and served for over 20 years. He was dedicated and proud of his time served. Louis was a hard worker his whole life, always tending to the cows and farming the land. He was a nurturer to his children and when he wasn't farming, he enjoyed gardening and animals. Louis was a member of the Nicollet American Legion Post 510 for 41 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed. Blessed be his memory.
