Marilyn Louise Glade was born on May 11 ,1928 to Albert and Matie (Riebesel) Glade in Ocheyedan, IA. She was baptized on June 3, 1928, received her Christian education in Zion Lutheran school, was confirmed in 1943, followed by her secondary education at Ocheyedan High School. On June 20, 1948, she and Ernest Schauland were united in marriage. This union was blessed with five children. Marilyn's parents provided for her musical training in piano and pipe organ. This was an asset in assisting her husband in his teaching career and also in teaching young students to learn and appreciate playing the piano and organ. At age 15 she began playing the organ for worship services and continued throughout her lifetime. A deep appreciation of love for the beauty of God's creation was evident in her writing and her music. Marilyn was a long-time involved member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Blessed be her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to Missions, The Lutheran Hour, Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm, or Concordia Lutheran Church in Redwing.
