Marlene Zimmerman, age 92, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026 at Southview Living Center in Gibbon.
Celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Turner Hall in New Ulm. A private family burial will follow in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.

Marlene is survived by her children, Todd (Amy) Zimmermann, Joy (Jeff) Anderson; grandchildren, Lexi (David) Swenson, Mallory (Jeremiah) Miller, Brandon Anderson, Travis Anderson, Derek (Emily) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Perri Swenson, Ike Swenson, Jude Miller, Asa Miller, Owen Anderson, Jacob Anderson; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Zimmermann; sister, Jan (Wes) Rolloff; and brother, Eugene Schmitz.
Marlene Marie Schmitz was born October 12, 1933 to Elmer and Laura (Meinert) Schmitz in Sleepy Eye. She graduated from Comfrey High School. On March 8, 1955, Marlene was united in marriage to Robert Zimmermann at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Their union was blessed with two children, Todd and Joy. Outside of being a wife and mother, Marlene first worked as a waitress at Prairie House in Gaylord and then logged over 30 years as a cook for the Gaylord Public School. After she retired, she worked as the demo lady at Cash Wise in New Ulm and became a dedicated member of the Turner Ladies. In her free time, Marlene enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, bowling and collecting Naber Kid dolls. Marlene was a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Gaylord. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or donor's choice.
